Busy Bee Newsletter For Jan.26-30

Hi Families,
Last week-We talked about animals in the winter, which animals hibernate and did some drawings of them. We learned about Bears and what they do in the cold winter months. Our classroom now has a bear cave in it and the kids have been having fun “Hibernating” inside. We started work on our own bear caves, painting them, then this week we will put some bears in them an write some stories about our hibernating bear caves.
This week- We are going to be finishing up our whole winter theme. We aren’t getting any winter weather here so we might as well move on. We will make bear caves, do some gummy bear sorting and graphing, and learn the letter B for bear. Also this week we will have a Hibernation Celebration and on Thursday and Friday we will have a pajama day at school. Your Busy Bee can wear their Pjs to school and bring something to snuggle with(Blanket, stuffed friend) and we will hibernate, eat bear snacks and watch a dvd. We will not go outside on these days. We could use some donations of boxes of Teddy Grahams for our celebration.
Registration for 2015-2016 school year: Our school will be having an open house/explore the classrooms day this week on Monday and Tuesday. If you see parents coming to check out our classroom for next fall and would like to share your experience in the Busy Bee class with them, feel free. There could be a few more people in and about our school so be aware. We are hoping to have our kindergarten class next Fall and would love to have your child here at LAPSK. The class size is half that in public schools and is not full day. They will cover all the same curriculum as Public school Kindergarten. Please let me know if you have questions about it or are considering having your child continue on here for Kindergarten. Also if you know other families that would like to come check out our school, this is a perfect chance to see what all the classes are like here and what they offer.
Fundraisers-LAPSK is a non profit preschool, fundraising is an important piece to our program. We are hopeful that with a variety of fundraisers your family will find one that is the right fit for you and you can help support our fantastic school

Sick kids- The cold/flu season is upon us and we want to keep our classroom as germ free as possible. We will be disinfecting and cleaning on a daily basis. You can help by having your Busy Bee wash hands before coming into class and keeping them home if they are showing signs of illness. We would like to keep track of illness, so giving the office a quick call to let us know or sending me a text or email would be helpful. Thanks for helping us keep a healthy environment to play and learn in.

Busy Bee Newsletter For Jan.12-16

Hi Families,
Reminder: I(Teacher Kim) will be out of the classroom this week celebrating my 30 year wedding anniversary with a trip. I have left Teacher Amber lots of fun activities and just know the kids will have a great week. If you have any questions or concerns, please let her know. You may email or call
         Amber cell#360-909-9697   email amberandace925@gmail.com
Last week-What a good week back to school we had. We got to know some new friends, learned about the season of winter, did a bunch of fun snow activities and got to make predictions on how ice would melt.
This week- We will continue on with the winter weather theme and be reading lots of stories about snow, mittens and snowmen. Our cooking project for the month will be this week as we make “Snowflake tortillas”. We have a fun art/writing activity to do as the kids answer the question “If I lived in a snow globe, I would.....?”. Watch for those to go up in the hallway at the end of the week. Please remember that we go outside for play every day unless it is very rainy, so dress those Busy Bees for a trip outside. Gloves, hats and a warm coat makes cold day play much more enjoyable.
