Hi Families,
Last week-The Busy Bee’s had a great week with Teacher Amber in charge of the classroom. They worked on a bunch of “Snow” related activities, made some snowglobes and snowflake pictures. The kids loved the cooking project when they made tortilla snowflakes. I am back in class this week, rested up and ready to get some fun learning done.
This week- We are changing up our winter theme just a little and will be learning about Animals in the winter. What do they do? Which ones hibernate and what do they do in the winter? We will be focusing on “Bears in the winter” at the end of the week and then finish up our winter unit with a fun PJ day and hibernation celebration at the end of next week.
This week is our time to visit the Grandmas and Grandpas over at Kindred. We will be going on Thursday this month, the 22nd @ 10:15.
Registration for 2015-2016 school year: Our school will be having an open house/explore the classrooms day coming up at the end of the month. We are hoping to have our kindergarten class next Fall and would love to have your child here at LAPSK. The class size is half that in public schools and is not full day. Please let me know if you have questions about it or are considering having your child continue on here for Kindergarten. Also if you know other families that would like to come check out our school, this is a perfect chance to see what all the classes are like here and what they offer.
Fundraisers-LAPSK is a non profit preschool, fundraising is an important piece to our program. Our current fundraisers are Fred Meyers gives back to schools! Go to https://www.fredmeyer.com/topic/community-rewards-4 to register your rewards card and give back to Little Acorn Preschool and Kindergarten. And Shoparoo.com that is any easy way to earn money for our school right on your smart phone.
A new fundraiser is beginning, “Jamberry” is a fun and easy way to have nails done that is safe and toxic free. Watch for the flyer to go in cubbies this week with all the info. Or check it out online http://misskari.jamberrynails.net/party/…
Sick kids- The cold/flu season is upon us and we want to keep our classroom as germ free as possible. We will be disinfecting and cleaning on a daily basis. You can help by having your Busy Bee wash hands before coming into class and keeping them home if they are showing signs of illness. We would like to keep track of illness, so giving the office a quick call to let us know or sending me a text or email would be helpful. Thanks for helping us keep a healthy environment to play and learn in.
Volunteering: If you would like to volunteer in class and come see what your Busy Bee is doing, we would love to have you. I usually have some easy task that needs done, repairing books or prepping for upcoming activities. Your time in class is very helpful and you get a chance to see what our day is like and how your child is interacting. There is a sign up sheet in the hallway for dates/times. Thanks in advance for your support.
Contact info: Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or concerns. I am fine with a text or a call or you can email. I am here to help you and your child have a great school year and feel honored that you have chosen us for your family’s preschool experience.
